As the ferry crosses the river we get our first look at the changed
New York skyline. Actually, I have spoken to many New Jersey residents,
myself included, that feel "lost" when looking at the city skyline. It
is almost as if we are visiting another city, we simply do not recognize
where we are. I took this photo on September 18, 2001, and you can
still see the smoke rising from ground zero. In fact, the last
reports I heard say that several buried fires are still burning as of
today, October 2, 2001.
