America Stands Tall

This was one of the saddest things I've seen during my visits to NYC.

This bicycle was chained up on September 11th, and it stayed
after the towers collapsed. You can see that it has a layer of dust
covering it, and someone put a bouquet of roses on it.

The city cleanup crew left it here during the massive cleanup,
and the police actually put barricades around it too.

As I type this is is now 3 months after the attacks,
and we know that there were about 4000 people killed
in the towers, down from initial reports of over 6000.
This bicycle belonged to one of the victims of the attack.
It remained as a small memorial and it will go unclaimed
until city officials decide to remove it from the area.
